Open Positions - Certified/Teaching

Secondary Counselor

JH/HS Campus | Clyde Hill, WA | 2024-25 Academic Year

Salary: Placement on Salary Schedule – between $55,000 – $85,000 (determined by prior experience and education)

Start Date: Around August 15, 2025

Working Hours: Full-Time; 1.0 FTE (contracted)

Job Summary:

The Counselor is responsible in providing academic, social/emotional, and college counseling and guidance services to the BCS Clyde Hill students.  They are advocates, collaborative, and data-driven with all stakeholders to promote student health and achievement.

General Responsibilities:

  • Guide students towards God’s calling during and beyond their secondary career 
  • Model an attitude of Christ-like servanthood, cooperation, accuracy, and accountability 
  • Display patience, honesty, and emotional constancy 
  • Develop trusting, meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff 
  • Collaborate with and support teacher, parents, and other stakeholders for the purpose of student advocacy and success
  • Attend weekly meetings with Principal to set goals and keep Principal apprised of student needs and concerns 
  • Lead or participate in parent and student events; including orientation, course advising, and “What to Expect” series
  • Participate in community life of the school 
  • Collaborate with other counselors to help ensure K-12 alignment 
  • Attend all faculty meetings and professional development opportunities 
  • Conduct and deliver classroom guidance as a Counseling Department to meet student needs on a developmentally appropriate, data-driven level
  • Work closely with our international program to provide support to our international students
  • Additional 10 days included in contract for the purpose of additional work needed to be done at the beginning and end of the school year
  • Other duties as assigned

Specific Duties & Responsibilities – Academic

  • Manage student academic course advising 
  • Review weekly grade reports, and identify and support students in academic distress 
  • Work with registrar on transcript and documentation needs 
  • Collaborate with Director of Student Learning and faculty in recommendations for individualized testing 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities – Social/Emotional

  • Provide short-term counseling for students following administrator, faculty, or self-referrals
  • Meet with students individually and in groups to provide social-emotional support and help students develop tools for independence, balance, self-advocacy, and purpose within a Christian worldview context 
  • Plan and lead social/emotional emergency response plan in coordination with Principal 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities – College/Career

  • Collaborate with the College/Career counselor in guiding students and parents through the college admissions process.
  • Provide original, personalized letters of recommendation for seniors, as needed
  • Conduct credit checks and approve schedule changes

Qualifications (required):

  • Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field
  • State certification, license, or endorsement

Work Requirements

  • Work is generally performed inside, sitting and standing in an office or classroom
  • Occasional bending/lifting/standing (10 lbs. or less) may be needed
  • Occasional driving between locations (between 5 – 20 miles) may be required
  • Valid CPR/First Aid Certification

Long-Term Substitute Teacher – High School Science

Secondary Campus | Clyde Hill, WA | Approx. December 2025 – April 2026

Salary: $26.50/hour

Working Hours: School Hours – would be teaching for a 1.0 FTE assignment

Responsibilities: Implement curriculum for High School Science classes; class management of self-contained classroom

Requirements:

  • Current OSPI fingerprint/background clearance (BCS will facilitate)
  • In agreement with BCS doctrinal statement.

Educational Assistant

Mack Elementary (Woodinville, WA) | 2025 – 2026 Academic Year

Salary: Between $18.00 – $22.00/hour

Working Hours: Monday – Friday from 8:10am-3pm, During the School year, About 0.55 FTE

Start Date: Around August 27, 2025

Job Summary: Assist Elementary classroom teachers with student instruction, supervision and behavioral support. Includes recess supervision.

Extended Day Assistant Instructor – Mack Elementary

Salary: $17.77 – $20.01 per hour

Working Hours: Part time, 1-2.5 hours per day, school days only

The Extended Day Assistant Instructor supports the daily operations of the Afterschool Program (ASP) by partnering with the Lead Instructor to supervise students in grades K–6. This role helps foster a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment through student engagement, behavior support, and assistance with activities. The Assistant Instructor plays a vital part in building community, maintaining order, and contributing to a positive extended day experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Supervision & Engagement

  • Assist the Lead Instructor with active supervision indoors and outdoors, always prioritizing student safety and engagement.
  • Help welcome and supervise students transitioning to enrichment classes or staying for extended care.
  • Support and participate in both structured and unstructured activities, including games, creative projects, and outdoor play.
  • Encourage positive student interactions, friendships, and respectful behavior.

Activity & Program Support

  • Aid in preparing and setting up for daily activities as directed by the Lead Instructor.
  • Help facilitate daily homework/quiet/reading time and provide individual student assistance as needed.

Snack & Environment Management

  • Assist with snack setup and distribution at 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM following ASP procedures.
  • Clean tables and shared spaces before and after snack time or activities.
  • Ensure materials and supplies are returned to their proper place at the end of the day.

Behavior & Safety

  • Reinforce behavior expectations and redirect students when necessary.
  • Alert the Lead Instructor or ASP Manager to any behavioral or safety concerns.
  • Adhere to all allergy/medical restrictions and support emergency preparedness protocols.

Parent & Staff Communication

  • Greet parents during pickup with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Communicate student highlights or concerns to the Lead Instructor to pass along when needed.

Administrative Assistance

  • Help maintain attendance/check-in logs and parent signature sheets.
  • Assist with student tracking and transitions as needed throughout the day.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Lead Instructor and other ASP staff to ensure program continuity and a cohesive team culture.
  • Demonstrate a team-first attitude by stepping in to support any area as needed.

End-of-Day Duties

  • Contribute to end-of-day cleanup and preparation of the space for the following school day.

Qualifications (Required):

  • Experience working with children/youth (preferred)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Patience, reliability, and flexibility in a team setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to engage and supervise students safely in a fast-paced environment

Marketing and Video Producer, Writer

District Office | Clyde Hill, WA

Working Hours: Full-Time; 1.0 FTE

Salary: $49,500 – $57,800 DOE

Job Summary:

The Marketing and Video Producer, Writer is a strategic, creative writer, and visual storyteller who brings Bellevue Christian School’s story to life through dynamic and compelling human stories. This will include storyboarding, writing scripts, directing, filming, editing, and producing content and that positively tells the story of BCS in a way that will elevate the school’s success and contribute positively to student enrollment increase and fundraising contribution support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, storyboard, write and direct video scripts for the purposes of sharing BCS’ story on social media, at events, and internally.
  • Film, edit, and produce videos for both short-term (announcements and updates) and long-term (documenting capital projects in process, communicating unique aspects about BCS) projects.
  • Capture footage in various settings like classrooms, at athletic competitions and community events. Work is seldom done in a studio, mostly in natural environments or inside buildings.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the communications interfaces that host marketing content videos at BCS: social media accounts, internal screens, and other promotional applications.
  • Assist team members with graphic design and other promotional projects as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A storyteller with a passion for using the creative medium of video to persuade others to action.
  • Have an understanding of the mission of Christian education and see this storytelling work as furthering God’s kingdom and the institution of BCS.
  • Work well with young people and is a collaborative team player.

Work Requirements:

  • High level English writing skills, with the demonstrated ability to write on a wide variety of topics and adapt style for a range of audiences, using correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, formatting, etc.
  • Once the raw footage is generated, editing work is generally performed inside, sitting within an office environment, with standard office equipment.
  • Occasional standing, bending, and lifting (less than 20 pounds) may be required.
  • Occasional driving between locations (between 5 – 20 miles) therefore a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.

Bus Driver

District-wide | Designated Bus Routes

Shifts can start in Renton, Woodinville or Bellevue!

Salary: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour

Working Hours: 6 hours/day guaranteed during school year, job share/part-time will be considered

Responsibilities:

  • This person is responsible for driving a designated regular school bus route daily.
  • Additional hours for athletic and special activities may be available.
  • Six hours/day guaranteed during school days.
  • Will consider job-share if candidate is interested in a 2-3 day/week schedule

Benefits package includes: Paid time off includes paid sick/personal time. Up to 50% tuition discount at BCS for dependents.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • CDL type B driver’s license with airbrakes and school bus ‘P’ & ‘S’ endorsement
  • At least 3 years of experience as a licensed driver of a passenger vehicle
  • Satisfactorily completed a school bus training course administered by an authorized school bus instructor.
  • Demonstrated Christian commitment and relationship with Jesus Christ and being active in a local church.
  • Certified in CPR/First Aid (BCS can train upon hire)
  • Background check includes: fingerprinting and FBI background check.

Substitute Teaching

All Campuses | Ongoing

Salary: $73.50 for 1-3 hours/day; $147.00 for all day

Working Hours: School Hours – will vary according to assignment

Responsibilities: Implement curriculum; class management of self-contained classroom
